Sunshine Coast News

Interest in the real estate industry on the Sunshine Coast is on a definite rise in 2015, as the region continues to develop and expand creating higher employment and exceptional lifestyle opportunities. Projects such as the multi-billion dollar Sunshine Coast University Hospital, the Maroochydore Principal Activity Centre and the major development at Caloundra South are all contributors to the Coast's popularity.

The growing economy has also placed demand on an expansion project for the Sunshine Coast Airport, with a proposed Light Rail also to be established between Maroochydore and Caloundra. Headlines were made last month with the ABC as the Sunshine Coast was 'names the state's fastest growing property market, with house values rising by 6.7 per cent last year, closely followed by the Gold Coast and Cairns'. This was perceived as being the result of a 'lifestyle market', where the relaxed lifestyle, favourable climate and 200 kilometres of coastline have proven to be a strong lure for investors and owner-occupiers alike. Combine this with such major developments being implemented on the Sunshine Coast, and the real estate industry is set for a strong year ahead.
